Roles & permissions

Everyone in a Memberley organization holds one of three roles. Owners have everything. Managers run daily operations without touching money infrastructure or settings. Members get their own portal. Roles are assigned under Admins & roles.

A primary member can share their member portal with one adult family member through joint access. The joint holder uses their own login to manage the shared membership’s family, bookings, registrations, waivers, and payments. This grants no staff permissions. Only the primary member and club staff manage invitations or remove someone else’s access; the joint holder can leave.

Beyond whole areas, a handful of actions inside shared areas require an owner: approving email campaigns and buying SMS top-ups, issuing refunds and exporting payments, creating and tracking waivers, managing custom fields and facility types, releasing invitation batches, and toggling the roster’s invite code. Assessments are not among them — managers can draft, activate, waive, and exempt, the same as owners.

These are the pages in these docs that a manager can’t reach at all:

Every one of them carries an Owner only chip at the top, so you can tell before reading whether the page applies to you.

Signing in, owners and members land on their dashboard; managers land on the Front Desk, since that’s where staff shifts start.

Members’ portal covers their own world: reservations, class sign-ups, billing and receipts, documents and waivers, family members, their check-in code, and their personal activity. Admins can see it exactly as a member does with View as member.
