Glossary

The Memberley vocabulary, alphabetized. Each term links to the page that covers it.

  • Account credit — money held on a member’s account from refunds, overpayments, or manual grants, spendable on dues, fees, and at the register. Enabled in Features.
  • Autopay (auto-renewal) — a member’s opt-in to renew a non-seasonal membership automatically on their saved card, allowed per tier.
  • Block series — a repeating reservation that holds facility time for leagues, lessons, or maintenance. See Recurring blocks.
  • Capability — what a module grants under the hood; capabilities decide which navigation and features an organization sees. See Modules & pricing.
  • Custom field — a field you define to collect extra information on members, family members, or memberships. See Custom fields.
  • Delinquency — owing the organization money; can warn or block at check-in and holds auto-approved bookings for review.
  • Enrollment — a member’s (or family member’s) spot in a class or event. See Enrollments, rosters & attendance.
  • Guest pass — a pass a member spends to bring a guest through check-in; tiers grant them and members can buy more.
  • Invite code — the code carried by your roster’s invite link that lets someone join even when public registration is off, waiving any application fee. See Bring members in.
  • Late fee — a per-season charge assessed on dues unpaid after the season’s deadline. See Renewals & late fees.
  • Member preview — browsing the app as a specific member from your admin account, read-only unless escalated. See Viewing the app as a member.
  • Membership tier — a membership you sell (Individual, Family…), with its own price, capacity, duration, and rules. See Membership tiers.
  • Module — an à-la-carte add-on (Bookings, Check-in, POS, Communications, Branded Site, Classes) attached to your plan. See Modules & pricing.
  • Offering — a class or event with sessions, pricing, and registration. See Classes & events.
  • Payment request — a signed pay-by-link email that lets a member settle a charge without logging in. See Recording & collecting payments.
  • Payout — Stripe depositing your collected payments to the organization’s bank account. See Payouts.
  • Prepaid balance (Splash Card) — money a member loads in advance and spends at the register. Enabled in Features.
  • Registration code — a season’s shareable code; its /s/ link is the public door into that season. See Registration codes & invitations.
  • Registration phase — the gate a season sits in: setup, renewals, waitlist, open, or closed. See How seasons work.
  • Season — the dated container for tiers, memberships, and registration — usually one per year. See How seasons work.
  • Segment — a saved, rule-based audience for campaigns and broadcasts. See Audience segments.
  • Session — a single meeting of an offering, with its own time and facility. See Classes & events.
  • Suppression — an address email can no longer be sent to — unsubscribed, bounced, or complained. See Sender identity & suppressions.
  • Waitlist — the ordered queue for a full tier (or full offering), promoted automatically as spots open. See Waitlist.
  • Waiver — a document members must sign, tracked by version with optional annual renewal. See Waivers & signatures.
  • Z-report — the closing summary of a register session: totals by tender and counted-vs-expected cash. See Register (Point of Sale).
